Summer School
INFORMATION
Summer STEAM Camp k-12 School lunch schedule: (Free of charge)
Breakfast 7:30 AM - 8 AM.
Lunch 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM.
Dismissal 12:30PM
HPA ONLY
HS 9-12th grade
Course Recovery. High school summer courses allow students to receive credit in required subject areas if they have previously failed a course.
Enrollment Procedure
Enrollment is now open, so go to our online application to reserve your spot. Our summer camp is open to all of Yuma County.
Please on your first day of STEAM Camp, you go to the cafeteria with your child.
Enrichment classes
Conduct
Conduct that interferes with the rights of other students to learn will not be tolerated and could result in removal from summer school. Events surrounding why the student is sent to the office will be investigated, and due process will be given. Policies are in effect for summer school.
Smoking or Use of Tobacco
The use of all tobacco products (cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and smokeless tobacco) and lookalike products, such as electronic cigarettes (E-cigarettes), is prohibited in or on all school district property (BOE Policy 1150). Any violation may result in dismissal from summer school.
Cell Phones / Music Devices
Cell phone usage is prohibited during class (instructional) time. The use of music devices during class (instructional) time is at the discretion of the classroom teacher.
Dress code
Students are required to wear polos, and if the child doesn't have a polo, they can wear a solid-colored t-shirt with no graphics on it student is also to wear dressed pants, No jeans or ripped pants.

Mr. Santos is not just the STEAM Coordinator but also Arizona Teacher of the Year. Mr. Santos continues to inspire his students. Mr. Santos earned his bachelor's of education, in biological science, from Vulcan State University in 2012. He has been the Director of science for HPA since 2017. He advocates science and research for underrepresented students in STEM and STEAM research. Mr. Santos always says, “no matter what your situation or background is, as long as you have the right opportunity, passion, and curiosity to solve a problem, anyone can be a scientist.” Mr. Santos has taken multiple science students from Yuma County winners to the international level.
